Licensing & Trial
Omni Core starts on a free tier and unlocks more when you register a license key. This page explains the tiers, what each lifts, and how the Document Assistant trial works.
Registering a license
You register a license key in Settings . The key is verified on your own machine and stored encrypted locally — Omni Core does not contact a server to validate it, so licensing works offline. If verification fails for any reason, the app falls back to the free tier rather than locking you out.
The tiers
| Free | Story Teller Pro | Bundle / higher tiers | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Projects | 1 | 1 | Unlimited |
| Topics | 50 | 50 | Unlimited |
| Document libraries | 2 | 2 | Unlimited |
| Stories | 1 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Parts / Chapters / Scenes | small caps | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Document Assistant | trial only | Included | Included |
The free tier’s manuscript caps are deliberately modest so you can try the product; a paid tier lifts them.
Story Teller Pro is the license for fiction writers: it makes stories, parts, chapters, and scenes unlimited and keeps the in-editor Document Assistant available. A bundle license combines Story Teller Pro with the rest of Omni Core, lifting the general project, topic, and library limits too.
When you hit a limit, Omni Core tells you which one you reached and links you to upgrade. Nothing you have already written is affected — a limit only stops you adding more of that item until you upgrade.
The Document Assistant trial
The Document Assistant — the AI writing help inside the editor — has a 30-day trial:
- The trial begins the moment you register any valid license, even one that does not include Story Teller Pro. So registering, say, a base Omni Core license also starts your 30 days of Document Assistant.
- The free, unregistered tier does not include the Document Assistant at all — register a key to begin the trial.
- While the trial is active, the editor shows how long remains.
- When the trial ends without a Story Teller Pro (or bundle) license, the Document Assistant stops and shows that the trial has expired, with a link to upgrade. Your manuscript, notes, and the rest of the app keep working — only the in-editor AI help pauses.
A Story Teller Pro or bundle license keeps the Document Assistant permanently, with no trial clock.
